Succulent Karoo
The next part our trip took us exploring the succulent karoo, an amazing plant biodiversity hotspot. The succulent karoo is famous for its unparalled succulent diversity, many of which are tiny and resemble stones. Why the area is so diverse and why the plants have these forms is still unknown.
