Redwoods
On our way down south, we stopped off for a couple of days in Redwood National Park, home to the Coastal Redwoods. Visiting these forests is a bit of a pilgrimage for any botanist. These are the tallest trees on earth. The tallest trees are over 110m tall and 2000 years old. The texture and depth of these forests is incredible. At times, you can be standing underneath 70m of leaves! Needless to say we loved our time walking around the forest. Photographs just can't do it justice. It really is a magical place.
