Flying Kommetjie to Noordehoek

Finally got the chance to try a flight I have been wanting to do for awhile: launching at Kommetjie, ridge soaring to Scarborough on the edge of the Cape Point Nature reserve and then turning and running downwind over the Noordehoek Valley and Long Beach to Chapman's Peak.

Preflight checks

On the day itself I had to wait under my glider for a couple hours while rainstorms rolled off the sea, but that was kind of fun in its own right and made the flight all the more enjoyable when it happened.

En route to Scarborough, the last settlement before Cape Point
Nature Reserve. Cape Point itself is in the far top left of the image.

Gliding over Oceanview towards Chapman's Peak
with Long beach in the distance.
